Some of the most meaningful conversations I've ever had about music didn't happen during a recording session. They happened after the microphones were turned off, when everyone stopped worrying about getting the perfect take and simply started talking.
Over the years, I've been fortunate to spend time with artists, producers, engineers, songwriters, and DJs from all walks of life. While every conversation started with music, very few ended there. We found ourselves talking about creativity, setbacks, family, self-doubt, unexpected opportunities, and the experiences that shaped who we are—not just as musicians, but as people.
Those conversations have stayed with me far longer than any discussion about gear, recording techniques, or release strategies. They reminded me that behind every song is a person with a story worth telling, and that's always been at the heart of what The Human Side is about.
The Idea
That realization led me to a simple idea.
What if those conversations didn't end when everyone walked out of the studio?
That's the inspiration behind The Human Side Sessions, a new conversation show where I'll sit down with artists, producers, engineers, songwriters, DJs, and other creatives to talk about the journey behind the music. We'll explore the creative process, the lessons learned, the challenges that rarely get discussed, and the moments that continue to shape us long after the songs are finished.
My goal isn't to create another interview series focused on promoting the latest release. I want these conversations to feel like you're sitting in the room with us, listening to the kind of discussion that usually happens after the work is done and people simply start sharing their stories.
What's Next
I'm currently working behind the scenes to bring this idea to life, taking the time to build something that feels authentic to everything The Human Side represents. My plan is to record the first few conversations before sharing them, so when the series launches, it begins with the same care and intention that has guided this blog from the beginning.
I'm excited about where this journey might lead—not because it's a podcast, but because it's another opportunity to celebrate the people behind the music. I have a feeling these conversations will remind us that while songs may introduce us to someone's work, it's their story that helps us connect with who they really are.
Because at the end of the day, music may bring us together... but it's our stories that remind us we're all a little more alike than we realize.
And that's what The Human Side has always been about.
