Some trips feel different before they even begin.
This one carried a certain energy from the start.
Not because we knew what would happen… but because we knew we were stepping into an important moment for RBL. A chance to continue building relationships, present our work, and push ourselves further creatively and professionally.
But before Miami… there was preparation.
Weeks of it.
Late nights in the studio organizing our catalog, finalizing submissions, updating the RBL website, and making sure we were presenting ourselves the right way. People often see the exciting side of music — the travel, the meetings, the opportunities — but a lot of the real work happens quietly behind the scenes.
Laptops open.
Songs being revised.
Ideas being debated.
Everyone focused on the same goal.
There was a real feeling that we were building toward something bigger.
As the trip got closer, the excitement started becoming real. Not just because of the meetings themselves, but because moments like this remind you why preparation matters so much in music. Opportunities may come unexpectedly, but you still have to be ready when they arrive.
One of the biggest parts of the trip was spending time at Peermusic in Miami and having the opportunity to continue conversations around publishing, songwriting, and where RBL fits creatively in today’s music landscape. I won’t go too deep into private conversations, but I will say this — being in those rooms reminds you very quickly that relationships, preparation, consistency, and identity still matter in this business.
Music is still very much a people business.
What also stood out to me was seeing how collaborative the process becomes once you’re around other creatives who are serious about the work. Different perspectives start shaping ideas in real time. Conversations become inspiration. Energy shifts songs.
That carried directly into the studio sessions we had during the trip.
Working with a new upcoming artist @Paumuelleroficial brought a completely different energy into the room. Every artist approaches music differently — different life experiences, different emotions, different ways of hearing records. That’s one of the things I’ve come to appreciate most about collaborating and producing.
Sometimes sessions move fast.
Sometimes they take time to unlock.
And sometimes the best moments happen when people stop trying to force the song and simply connect as human beings first.
Those are the moments I enjoy most.
Not just building records… but building trust, chemistry, and an environment where real ideas can happen naturally.
One thing this trip reminded me of is that growth in music rarely happens overnight. Most people only see the finished moments online — the announcement, the release, the photo, the opportunity. But behind all of that are countless hours of preparation, uncertainty, teamwork, revisions, conversations, and belief.
That’s the part people don’t always see.
And honestly… that may be the most important part of all.
For RBL, this trip felt less like a destination and more like another step forward in the journey we’re building together. There’s still a lot of work ahead, but moments like this remind us we’re moving in the right direction.
More to come soon.
